Tantummaheag Town Landing, Old Lyme
Tantummaheag Town Landing, Old Lyme
Tantummaheag Town Landing is a picturesque but small-undeveloped car-top boat launch that provides access to Lord Cove and the Connecticut River at high tide only. Growth of a tall invasive plant at this site, the common reed, may limit access to the River. Parking is available for only one vehicle at the end of Tantummaheag Road. Please park only within the grassy area nearest the River to the right of the landing and respect the rights of the adjacent landowners by staying within the trail leading to the River. This site is located approximately 5 miles north of the Baldwin Bridge off of Route 156. You may wish to consider using the Pilgrim Landing public access site about 1 mile south for more reliable small boat launching conditions.
