Island Bay/Shell Beach, Guilford | Island Bay/Shell Beach is a small coarse sand beach that offers a beautiful view of Island Bay and recreational boating activity. Parking is very limited. At low tide this site provides access to mud flats popular for recreational shellfishing. Consult with the local shellfish commission/health department using information provided by clicking on the shellfishing link below to check if the area is currently open and required permits for the taking shellfish.

| Directions |
| From the East: Take I-95 South to exit 58. Turn left off the exit onto Route 77 South (Church Street). Travel south on Route 77 for approximately 0.8 mile to the center of Guilford. Turn right onto Broad Street and then turn a quick left onto Whitfield Street driving around the Guilford Town Green. Continue south on Whitfield Street for approximately 0.2 miles to the intersection with Route 146 (Water Street). Turn right onto Route 146. Travel on Route 146 for approximately 2.6 miles. Turn left onto Shell Beach Road. Travel on Shell Beach Road for approximately 50 yards and turn right at a small read barn onto a small road immediately past Island Bay Circle. The beach is on the left. |
