Sheffield Island Lighthouse, Norwalk
Sheffield Island Lighthouse is part of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge and is owned by the Norwalk Seaport Association.  This historic lighthouse is closed most of the year to protect the many birds that nest along the Island's rocky shore.  This site has become a regular wintering ground for harbor seals.  The Sheffield Island Lighthouse is maintained and operated seasonally as a museum by the Norwalk Seaport Association.  Information available at <a href='http://www.seaport.org'>Norwalk Seaport Association</a>.  Accessible by boat only.  Public ferry at Hope Dock, 7 Water Street (May-Sept), call 203-838-9744 or 203-838-9444 for information.

 Directions
From the East: Take I-95 South. Take exit 16 to East Norwalk and continue 0.14 miles. Keep left at the fork in the ramp. Turn left onto East Avenue and continue 0.49 miles. Turn right onto Van Zant Street/Route 136. Continue to follow Route 136 for 0.70 miles. Turn left onto Water Street/Route 136. Take the ferry to Sheffield Island Lighthouse.

From the West: Take I-95 North Take exit 14 to South Norwalk and continue 0.17 miles. Turn right onto Fairfield Avenue and continue 0.39 miles. Fairfield Avenue becomes West Washington Street and continue 0.38 miles. Turn right onto Water Street/Route 136. Take the ferry to Sheffield Island Lighthouse.
