Public access sign at Sherwood Mill Pond Walkway, Westport
Sherwood Mill Pond Walkway is an elevated wooden walkway over tide gates.  The walkway provides great views of the Sherwood Mill Pond and  tidal wetlands, Compo Cove, and Long Island Sound.  Bring binoculars to observe the wildlife.  Parking lot on site is restricted to Town residents May to September but metered on-street parking is available nearby on  Hills Point Road.

From the East: Take I-95 South. Take exit 18 to Sherwood IslandState Park and continue 0.16 miles. Take the ramp to US-1/Westport and continue 0.09 miles. Take Sherwood IslandConnector/Route 476 North and continue 0.19 miles. Turn left onto Greens Farms Road and continue 0.84 miles. Turn left onto Hills Point Road and continue 0.66 miles. Turn left onto Old Mill Road.

From the West: Take I-95 North. Take the Route 136 exit 7 to Route 33/Westport/Saugatuck and continue 0.27 miles. Turn slight left onto Saugatuck Avenue/Route 136. Continue to follow Route 136. 0.37 miles. Turn right onto Bridge Street/Route 136 and continue 0.50 miles. Stay straight to go onto Greens Farms Road and continue 0.81 miles. Turn right onto onto Hills Point Road and continue 0.66 miles. Turn left onto Old Mill Road.
