Scenic view of the beach at South Street Beach, West Haven
South Street Beach offers visitors a sandy crescent beach and grassy area to enjoy Long Island Sound.  This beach is the furthest removed from the City of West Haven strand of beaches to the east.  Rocky outcroppings at this site provide good fishing spots.  South Street Beach is well-suited for those looking for a quieter more contemplative beach experience.  Parking lot accessibility is best one block north of South Street, directly across from Linwood Street. To help you reach South Street Beach, some routes leading to this site are posted with the brown and white Long Island Sound Access sign Long Island Sound Access sign.
