 | Long Wharf Nature Preserve |
View of footbridge along hiking trail at Long Wharf Nature Preserve, New Haven | Well-worn unimproved trails with many educational placards along the way, Long Wharf Nature Preserve is a secret garden, next to Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park. Power walk and learn about the Sound at the same time. Or, better yet, just meander around the trails and enjoy being this close to the water. Unrestricted views of the harbor, pleasant breezes and the gentle hum of an interstate highway as white noise in the background. Well worth a family visit for its educational value alone. This site is easy to miss, but worth the visit. This site is easy to miss, but worth the visit.
