Long Wharf Pier occasionally berths tour boats and visiting tall ships during the summer. The pier is 600 feet long. Check the schedule Schooner Sound Learning for the Schooner Quinnipiac, New Haven's flagship schooner that departs from this site. The pier is a popular birding spot. Time your visit during low tide and you're sure to see a variety of shore and wading birds feeding along Connecticut largest and most productive intertidal mudflat. To help you reach Long Wharf Pier, some routes leading to this site are posted with the brown and white Long Island Sound Access sign.
