USS Nautilus Memorial Museum, Groton
USS Nautilus Memorial Museum, Groton
Located at the end of Crystal Lake Road, just outside the main gate of the U.S. Naval Submarine Base, the Nautilus Memorial offers visitors an opportunity to tour the museum and take a self-guided tour of the world’s first nuclear powered submarine, the USS Nautilus.  There is a picnic area on the grounds with views of the Thames River.  Admission and parking are free.  Federally-owned.

From the East: Take I-95 South to exit 86 (Route 12 toward U.S. Sub Base/Gales Ferry). Turn right onto Route 12/US-1. Continue on Route 12 for 1.6 miles. Turn left onto Crystal Lake Road.
