 | Barn Island State Boat Launch |
Barn Island State Boat Launch, Stonington | Recently updated facilities at the Barn Island State Boat Launch include two 80-foot sections of floating dock, one of which will be Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible. Car-top boaters should use the area marked for canoes/kayaks on the right (west) side of the ramp. New facilities include a state-of-the-art ramp and improved water depths at the launch. Fishing is allowed on-site but must not interfere with boating activity. Some routes leading to this site are posted with boat launch symbol signs, in order to help visitors reach Barn Island State Boat Launch. Consider visiting the extensive trail system at the adjacent Barn Island Wildlife Management Area after engaging in boating activities. The trails offer extensive views of salt marshes and Fishers Island Sound. The trailhead is located on the east side of the upper section of the boat launch parking lot.
