View of McCook Park, East Lyme | Bring a lunch and arrive early to picnic under the old copper beech tree atop a bluff overlooking Long Island Sound. Obtain a parking pass at the Parks and Recreation offices (tel. 860-739-5828) located at the Library and Community Center building on Society Road (Monday-Friday) to access the parking lot for the Park. On weekends in 2005, passes may be purchased at "Tumbleweeds" at 325 Main Street, located near Main Street's intersection with Baptist Lane.
