Novelty Lane Water Access Area is a very small point of access to the Connecticut River at the end of Novelty Lane in Essex, and includes a bench that overlooks the river.  This site is difficult to locate, so look for a brown and white shoreline public access sign at the beginning of a path located on the right before the entrance to the Essex Yacht Club and before a house at the end of Novelty Lane. To help you reach Novelty Lane Water Access Area, some routes leading to this site are posted with the brown and white Long Island Sound Access sign Long Island Sound Access sign.
