Nott Lane Open Space is a very small point of access to the water at the end of Nott Lane in Essex.  At Nott Lane Open Space visitors can launch car-top boats and paddle along the river.  Bring binoculars and watch birds and wildlife at this site.  Fishing and crabbing are permitted.  It is adjacent to <a href= site.asp?siteid=67>Essex Town Park</a>. To help you reach Nott Lane Open Space, some routes leading to this site are posted with the brown and white Long Island Sound Access sign Long Island Sound Access sign.

From the East: Take I-95 South to exit 69, Route 9 North for 3.4 miles. Take exit 3 to Centerbrook/Essex. Turn left onto Middlesex Turnpike/Route 154. Turn right onto West Avenue 0.5 miles. Turn slight right onto Champlin Square. Stay straight to go onto West Avenue. Turn slight left onto South Main Street. Turn slight right onto Essex Square. Turn right onto Main Street. Turn right onto Nott Lane.
