Calf Pasture Overlook, Groton
Calf Pasture Overlook, Groton
This small neighborhod-scale passive recreation area offers fine views of an inlet within Baker Cove. A picnic area with seating provides a pleasant venue for enjoying an afternoon along the cove. Stone dust paths and parking area provide easy access to site's amenities. Look for the gravel drive entrance to the site opposite Plant Street and adjacent to a small brown sewer pump staition. The site is located directly across Baker Cove from the Elks Lodge. Be aware that launching of small boats at this site is not recommended. The shallow waters off this site recede at low tide leaving boaters stranded in tidal mudflats if they don't time their return with the tides. Use the nearby Bayberry Lane State Boat Launch instead to launch your small boat to paddle Baker Cove.
