 Boardwalk at Ocean Beach Park, New London | Ocean Beach Park provides the total beach experience including a rare wide sandy beach, 1/2 mile boardwalk, a water slide, and nature walk with an observation platform in a reclaimed dune area. Other facilities includes an Olympic size outdoor pool, a large pavilion, and new fenced in playscape. Visitors can view the New London Ledge Lighthouse while walking the boardwalk or sandy beach. There is a platform (funded by the LIS license plate fund) for wildlife observation and a nature walk along Alewife Cove. Fee to access site. | From the East: Take I-95 South to exit 84 South which will put you on Route 32. Route 32 becomes Eugene O'Neill Drive. Then turn right onto Governor Winthrop Boulevard. Turn left onto Huntington Street and then a right onto Jay Street. Jay Street Becomes Truman Street in which you will take a right onto Bank Street. Turn left on Ocean Avenue. Follow until end and it will put you at Ocean Beach Park. |
