Bathymetric Contours for Long Island Sound -5 m
Source: USGS  OFR 02-002
Description: This bathymetric contour data set was derived from a gridded data set obtained from URI (B.Tyce, G. Hatcher). They used the "Gridder" program to obtain the grid. This gridded data set was generated from the original NOS soundings from 9 track tape that was cleaned up and edited at URI. This work was done with the intention of producing the color poster called "Long Island Sound Estuary" (Connecticut Dept. of Environmental Protection"), 1993. The accuracy is questionable.

Bathymetry of the Fishers Island Sound sidescan sonar mosaic area - 2 meter
Source: CTDEP
Description: This GIS layer contains line data representing the bathymetry (2 meter contours) of the Fishers Island Sound sidescan sonar mosiac area. This data has been automated from USGS Geologic Investigations Series Map I-2640: Sidescan sonar image, surficial geologic interpretation, and bathymetry of the Fishers Island Sound Sea Floor, Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island (Poppe and others, 1998). This report was produced as part of series of side scan sonar studies in Long Island Sound conducted by the Marine Geology Cooperative Program between the USGS and CT Geological and Natural History Survey.

Bathymetry of the Hammonasset sidescan sonar mosaic area - 2 meter
Source: CTDEP
Description: This GIS layer contains line data representing the bathymetry (2 meter contours) of the Hammonasset sidescan sonar mosiac area. This data has been automated from USGS Geologic Investigations Series Map I-2588: Sidescan sonar image, surficial geologic interpretation, and bathymetry of the Long Island Sound Sea Floor off Hammonasset Beach State Park, Connecticut (Poppe and others, 1997). This report was produced as part of series of side scan sonar studies in Long Island Sound conducted by the Marine Geology Cooperative Program between the USGS and CT Geological and Natural History Survey.

Bathymetry of the Milford sidescan sonar study area - 2 meter
Source: CTDEP
Description: This GIS layer contains an interpretive data representing bathymetry (2 m contours) in the Milford sidescan sonar study area (a 6 km x 8 km section of the sea floor in western Long Island Sound). This data has been automated from USGS Geologic Investigations Series Map I-2632: Sidescan sonar image, surficial geologic interpretation, and bathymetry of Long Island Sound sea floor off Milford, CT (Twichell and other, 1998). This report was produced as part of series of side scan sonar studies in Long Island Sound conducted by the Marine Geology Cooperative Program between the USGS and CT Geological and Natural History Survey.
